OVERVIEW: In this Module, we learned how to edit images using an app called SnapSeed on our iPads. We learned the rules of composition: rule of thirds. We also learned about 5 photography genres and had an assignment to photograph an image for each photo genre.
STATEMENT: My favorite photo genre is Black and White photography because I like how the lack of color helps the view focus on more details in the image.

Module 2: Principles of Design
Overview: In this module we learned about the Principles of Design. We learned how to apply the principles of design to our photos and artwork. We began learning how to use Adobe Photoshop working with adjustment layers. Statement: I enjoyed the principle of design image of balance.
Overview We learned about traditional and digital double exposures. We learned about layer masks in Photoshop. We learned how to create a double exposure series in Photoshop using layer masks and layer blending modes.
Statement I chose to work with portraits and photos of Disneyland. Disneyland is my favorite place to visit and I wanted to make double exposures to fit this assignment. My strengths are using the layer masks. Areas to improve was looking for other photos of Disneyland for the assignment.

Module 4: Surrealism
Overview This module we learned about surreal traditional and digital art. We learned how to use the clone stamp tool and healing brush tool in Photoshop. We learned how to copy and paste selected areas in Photoshop. We created a surreal image in Photoshop.
Statement My favorite part of the surreal image was to create a sci-fi looking world. My least favorite part was coming up with a decent idea.

Module 5: Collage
Overview We learned about traditional and digital collage art. We continued to work on our Photoshop skills of layers, layer masks, using the selection tool, and copy/paste commands. We created a collage using 25-50 images/layers.
Statement: I titled my collage "Ode to The Office" because I made a collage from my favorite items from the TV show The Office.

Module 6: Digital Drawing and Painting
Overview We learned about color schemes and painting styles. We learned how to sketch digitally in Photoshop. We learned how to paint with Adobe Fresco and use mixer brushes to mix the digital paint. We did a digital drawing of our favorite person and painted our favorite landscape.
Statement Drawing: I decided to draw Jared Leto because he's my favorite actor. Painting: I decided to paint from one of my own photos of Joshua Tree National Park.

Module 7: Word Art
Overview We learned about typography and how to work the text tool in Photoshop. We learned how to change the font, size, and color. We created a one-word typographical image (word art) of our choice in Photoshop.
Statement I chose to do the words Ballet Dancer in the shape of the pointe shoe. I hand drew each letter to fit the shape of the pointe shoe.

Module 8: Mixed Media Art
Overview We learned about Mixed Media art: traditional and digital work. We were tasked to use all of our Photoshop and art app skills to work on this assignment. We completed a Mixed Media art piece that communicates something about the world: globally or locally. We were able to create a personal word of art with a powerful and personal statement.
