In addition to the digital portrait drawing (in AutoDesk Sketchbook, or Photoshop, or Illustrator or any art app that you are comfortable using), we will be creating the low poly portraits.
AutoDesk Sketchbook app: Open the image in Sketchbook. Add a new layer. Use the pen tool (size 2) and a choose a color for the outline. Click on the straight line tool at the top. Trace the image (on the new layer) with straight/angular lines. Add triangles and polygons. Make sure the shapes are closed, no gaps please! Use the paint bucket tool to fill in the color. Use the eye dropper tool to sample a color and fill in one triangle. Continue filling in the triangular shapes until the low poly portrait is complete. Use your own image of yourself, family or friend or pet. Or use a character, celebrity, athlete, or musician.
