Students will be introduced to Latin American and Aztec Art

Students will create their own sundial art inspired by Aztec Art
Assignment:
Students will create their own sundial art inspired by Aztec art by metal embossing. Students will use embossing stylus tools to create various lines, patterns, shapes in a balanced radial symmetry.
Materials:
Aztec art / sundial art images for inspiration (be sure to create your own original artwork)
Metal Sheet
Metal embossing stylus tools
Sharpie to add color
Grading:
Embossed on the aluminum sheet
Sundial Aztec art inspired or Mandala art inspired
Covered most of the metal sheet for artwork
Design was colored or outlined with Sharpie
Goals:
Using new tools and materials to draw
Exploring colored sharpies on a metallic surface
Learned about Aztec sundials and mandalas
